Girls on the Run

Summit Leadership Partners is committed to creating a positive change in our community by empowering and inspiring future leaders. Our Summit team recently partnered with Girls on the Run to help the youth understand that leaders come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities.  Corinne Mason, Partner explains, “At Summit we believe the path forward to strong and inclusive leadership talent is to work with young people from various cultures and backgrounds to instill critical leadership skills at an early age.  For Girls on the Run, this was an amazing opportunity to reinforce with a group of young and diverse women that their unique perspectives, personality, and talents are important and they can be future leaders.”

The girls participated in an interactive self-awareness activity which enabled them to understand their own personality and leadership style, and how to appreciate the individual differences of others. Maghan Knight, Council Director with Camp GOTR Charlotte, recently stated “We absolutely loved having Summit Leadership Partners join us for Camp GOTR! The parents have expressed how they always wanted their girl to complete a personality test and were blown away by the creativity of making the activity fun and accessible for this age group.” The girls also enjoyed their Summit goodie bags which included the book Wolfpack for Young Readers by Abby Wambach.

At the end of the activity, each girl walked the “red carpet” and recorded a brief video message telling us about their unique personality. Check our our photos and online videos as the girls tell us why they would make a great leader!
