 Role Description

The Business Development Analyst role is a highly collaborative position that cross-functionally supports internal teams at Summit, as well as periodically act as a representative of Summit with potential and existing clients. This role acts as a bridge to sales operations and inside sales to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic plan and goals. The incumbent will focus on improving Summit Leadership Partners’ relationship-based sales process, which involves cultivating strong client relationships, strategically positioning opportunities, and delivering high-quality responses to meet client objectives. Additionally, the Business Development Analyst researches and analyzes new business opportunities, customers, and competitors. They help establish and maintain client contacts and ensure follow-up. Furthermore, the Business Development Analyst leads the proposal process, including decision-making, formulation, awarding and executing contracts, and analyzing performance.

Work Location: Charlotte, NC – only local candidates will be considered for this role

 Overview of Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, including inputting and managing customer information, monitoring sales leads, tracking customer interactions, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing sales data. This involves tracking sales performance, monitoring key metrics, and generating reports to provide insights and support decision-making.
  • Prepare and support business development meetings and ensure follow through.
  • Manage recurring client sales and document them in the CRM system.
  • Coordination and maintenance of Client Satisfaction process.
  • Prepare Statements of Works and maintaining SOW template library
  • Follow up on outstanding proposals and approvals to close contracts.
  • Support the sales team improve productivity through client/prospect data research using the appropriate platform (Pitchbook)
  • Assist in preparing state-of-work documents outlining the progress and status of sales projects, initiatives, or campaigns.
  • Keep up to date with consulting products, services, and data analytics.
  • Provide support to the sales team, coordinating meetings, preparing sales presentations, and managing correspondence.
  • In partnership with Marketing, ensure all sales support materials are current, professional, and easily accessible.
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Business Development and Summit executives to facilitate their workflow and enhance sales effectiveness.
  • Coordinate follow up from conferences and other events – BD connections.
  • Assist with client efficacy work.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Capabilities Needed to Be Successful

  • Minimum five years’ experience in sales coordination, sales administration or business development. Prefer experience in professional services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or another related field required.
  • Extensive experience working with a CRM system, prefer Microsoft Dynamics but not required.
  • In-depth understanding of the entire MS Office suite – must have excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Successful experience working in a fast-growing, dynamic business environment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize in an entrepreneurial culture.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement, and decision-making.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills – must help us charm our clients!
  • Highly confidential and professional on all sensitive matters.
  • Ability to learn, expand the scope in the future, and scale as the company grows.
  • Highly effective working with teams as well as autonomously
